About

Hmm about me… well i’m a 23 year old Male (born in May 1986) who lives in New South Wales, Australia. My hobbies include Gaming, Pixel Art and Web Design. I’m currently working as a Computer Technician. As for a little back story I guess i’ll start from when I first started creating artwork.

It was about 2003, I joined DeviantArt, back then though I didn’t really have a main art medium. I guess I was just trying out everything to see what I would find more interesting. It wasn’t until 2004 when I first tried Pixel Art, of course my first attempt wasn’t too crash hot but it was good enough to me to keep at it. I then submitted it to DeviantArt but of course due to the size of the user base I really couldn’t get any feedback (except from some real life friends), but then a friend in real life told me about SheezyArt.

At the time SheezyArt was quite small (October 2004) which was a good chance for me to get some feedback. I submitted my first pixel art piece and I actually didn’t check back with the site until 2-3 months later when I received an email from one of the owners, they mentioned that they liked my artwork and would like me to work on a project for the site (unfortunately this project didn’t actually go anywhere) but this was the start of my “employment” at SheezyArt.

When 2005 came around the owner’s of the site offered me a Moderator position, I of course accepted because at the time I loved the idea of helping a new site get off the ground. It wasn’t much longer when I was offered the position of High Moderator. During this time of course I had been creating some pixel art pieces, none of which were up to the standards of my current pieces but you’ve got to start somewhere, right?

A few months later, Pixel Art started getting repetitive and I decided to once again try other mediums, such as flash, drawing, etc. Flash was one thing that I was actually good at and stuck with, drawing on the other hand, I just couldn’t get a handle on it, sure with some practice I could have but I just didn’t have the inspiration to keep going with it. That’s what led me back to Pixel Art (5 months later), surprisingly (to me and others) I was actually a lot better without any practice. So I stuck with it.

Later in the year I became one of the Managers of SheezyArt, however the role didn’t suite me. I stuck with the role though and that later turned into me becoming SheezyArt’s Co-Developer (Helping out with some of the coding on the site), this is what got me started with coding in PHP as well as doing a lot of web sites (mainly for myself). At the time of writing this, one of the user viewable parts of the site that I created was the entire Support Center. I also redesigned the staff side of the Report Center (however i’m not sure if that has remained that way).

Come 2007 I got my first job as a sales assistant at Tandy (aka Dick Smith), this didn’t last long as I soon found that I was not meant for sales, maybe with some experience I could’ve been but having no experience meant I just couldn’t keep up with the sales/requirements of working there. Since it was only a casual position I was still actively looking for work and about 3 months later I found myself the perfect job. My employment adviser showed me the available position of a Computer Technician. This was perfect for me as I knew I wasn’t any good at sales and repairing computers had become something that interested me in the years before (having done a couple of IT courses). So I applied and shortly after having the interview found myself employed as a Junior Bench Technician (working out the back, not on out calls).

2008 came and I found little time for Pixel Art or SheezyArt for that matter, and not unexpected came the yearly staff cuts for inactive staff members, I was one of them. It had been a great experience but I knew myself I couldn’t be on staff, I just didn’t have the time anymore. And unfortunately since then I been visiting the site less and less. I of course still upload new artwork to the site but even that is few and far between.

But real life for me was becoming far more eventful. In November I had passed my drivers test, going from a Learner to a Provisional driver which meant I could now drive by myself as well as do out calls for work. And that’s essentially what has been happening from then till now, I’m now out of my trainee ship, still working at the shop and doing the occasional out call. And of course if I ever get time, Pixel Art or Web Design are usually what I get up to as hobbies and I hope to be doing more Pixel Art in the future.

Thanks for visiting my site and I hope that you enjoy my artwork =)
